For clarification, 1/4-27 is not IPS (Iron Pipe Size) but instead is measured as UNF (Unified Fine Pitch Thread), this thread is typically used at the top of a HARP.
1/4ips = 1/4-18 or 1/2in Diameter; and You will want to use 1/4ips threaded rod;
