Would the 1/2 npt male threads thread into a 1/2 threaded plumbing part 1/8ips Female X 1/2 NPT Male Threaded Hex Head Reducer - Unfinished Brass

I want to use a 1/2" copper pipe in a light fixture and I will have an adapter with 1/2" threads on one end. I want to be able to thread a 1/8 ips pipe to that using this adapter. I just want to make sure the 1/2 male threads will easily thread into the plumbing adapter.

Please note 1/2in is NOT the same as 1/2ips. This is a common mistake.
