The IPS is how I order the part? For the part I'm replacing, the int size is closest to 1/2". Do you have this? 1/8ips Female Threaded Adjustable Brass Friction Swivel with Key - Polished Nickel Finish

I take it, the friction/toothed aspect and the keyed aspect both will provide the strongest joint for a swing arm standing lamp. So, the $8.75 per price reflects all that - vs. other keyed swivels that cost less.
I did see that mine actually has an adapter with 2 threaded pieces that create a 'step down' from pole diameter to joint IPS. So, I think I only need the female swivel that seems to be 1/2" (actually 7/16") internal diameter.
Does all this sound right to you? I really appreciate your help ~ I really need this lamp back in my work space..

If the inner diameter is 1/2in then you will want 1/4ips. We have this handy thread reference article which will help you understand lamp threads better. This is probably the most confusing aspect of lamp design. Once you understand that, the rest is fairly straight forward.
