This is designed to work with 18-14 gauge AWG wire.
Typically, for low-voltage systems like irrigation control systems, 14 or 18 gauge wires are commonly used. However, for larger systems or longer wire runs, thicker wires may be necessary to prevent voltage drop and ensure proper functioning of the system. It's always a good idea to consult the specifications provided by the sprinkler system manufacturer and adhere to local electrical codes when determining the appropriate wire size for your installation.
Whether or not this will work for your needs will be determined based on the type of wire as well as the wire gauge. We recommend contacting a Licensed Irrigation Contractor, or electricians with experience in low-voltage wiring as Improper installation can lead to system malfunctions, water waste, and potential safety hazards.
