This is an 18ft cable with the switch installed 4FT from plug end; if you would like to change the position of the switch you have two options.
1.) buy the wire, plug, and switch and wire it yourself anywhere you'd like that would work best with your specific application..
2.) contact Sales@grandbrass.com and one of our lighting experts can assist you create a custom order for your specific application.
