Measurement is from the edge of the canopy to the edge of the holder and is approximate.
The socket is approximately another 2inches but sits recessed so maybe 1-1/12inch for a total of 4.187 - 4-1/4in total

I just want to clarify that the product height is from the base where it sits against the ceiling to the very tip of the socket, correct. Thanks!
