This Pendant socket with capture ring is NOT meant for fitter glass.
For Fitter glass you want the appropriate holder. So for 2-1/4in fitter glass you want to use a 2-1/4in Holder.
This socket and capture ring would be most commonly used with 1-5/8in Hole Glass Shades
