This shade is designed for use with a 3-1/4in holder; using this glass with a 4in holder will result in the glass not fitting securely leaving a gap between the glass and the fitter. Since the glass won’t be properly supported, it could easily slip out of the fitter, potentially falling and breaking.
We recommend using a 4in fitter glass with your 4in holder.
