A 3-terminal, two-circuit switch is a type of switch often used in lamps to control two separate circuits, typically with three positions:
- Position 1: Activates Circuit 1 only
- Position 2: Activates Circuit 2 only
- Position 3: Activates both Circuit 1 and Circuit 2 together
This configuration allows for different levels of brightness in lamps with multiple light sources. For example, a lamp with two bulbs might use a 3-terminal, two-circuit switch to turn on one bulb, the other bulb, or both bulbs simultaneously for varying lighting effects.
