Some tips for working with cloth covered wiring.
1.) Make clean cuts on the cloth covered wire leaving no frayed ends
2.) Use a fabric fray sealant or liquid electrical tape on the trimmed edges
3.) Choose heat-resistant cloth electrical tape (also called friction tape). Wrap the wire tightly and smoothly, covering the frayed section while blending with the existing covering
