Yes, this steel nipple is threaded only on the outside with 3/8 IPS threads. The inside of the nipple is smooth and is not threaded, allowing wire to pass through.
If you're looking for a 5/8" long × 3/8 IPS nipple, this is the correct size. There are no internal threads.
