This cord set uses two insulated conductors, but because they are both black, the hot and neutral cannot be identified by color alone.
Please inspect the insulation on the individual conductors. On SPT cord, the neutral conductor is typically identified by molded ribs or ridges along the insulation, while the hot conductor has a smooth insulation.
If the markings are not visible or you are unsure, we recommend verifying the conductors with a continuity tester or multimeter before making any electrical connections.
