Regarding the finish issue, we would first need to confirm exactly which product was purchased. HA30207BP is supplied with a brass plated finish, although we also sell harps and saddles with black powder coated finishes.
If, instead, these were brass plated parts that were subsequently powder coated after purchasing, metal components may have oils or other surface residues from manufacturing, handling, or corrosion protection. Furthermore, plated parts can have protective oils, polishing compounds, fingerprints, cleaners, oxidation inhibitors, or other residues. More importantly, the plating itself changes what preparation is required. Powder coating generally depends heavily on degreasing, surface preparation, pretreatment, grounding, and the cure cycle.
However, we cannot verify what was present on these particular parts or determine what caused the bubbling during the refinishing process.
Parts being refinished should be properly cleaned and prepared according to the requirements of the coating process being used.
