The seat area surrounding the 1/8ips mounting hole measures just under 1-1/4in in diameter, so there is potentially enough material available to enlarge the opening. However, we cannot recommend or guarantee modifying the casting to accept a larger 3/8in or 1/2in NPT connection, as drilling or rethreading the fixture could affect the structural integrity of the component.
Rather than modifying the fixture, you may want to consider using an adapter such as our NO308 1/8ips Male x 3/8ips Female Bowl Nozzle. This would allow you to transition from the existing 1/8ips connection to a larger 3/8ips connection without enlarging the mounting hole.
